We are finally launching our long-awaited online store: Ålandsbutiken

Åland Online is newly launched on a completely new platform with infinitely more functions and possibilities!
However, with a bunch of childhood illnesses...

Åland Online test opens the Ålandsbutiken.

A new design is launched on the website... All pages are not yet updated, but we are continuing the work and we hope to have everything ready as soon as we can!

After a major accident in our server, Åland Online crashes for the first time since the start. It takes over a week to fix the problem, but all data is saved and all company information is restored without issue.

• 2009-03-08
  The storefront opens on Åland Online. This is a service for Åland companies where they can easily present their products and services. During a couple of weeks before we opened the service to the public, the companies had the opportunity to add selected articles to the shop window.
• 2009-03-27
  Some bugs are fixed after the upgrade to the new design.

The appearance is being upgraded to better implement new services.

• 2008-11-01
  We have today improved the administration interfaces for Åland Online and further improved Google's ability to index the information our companies enter in their presentations. All this in our endeavor to provide the best possible exposure for the companies participating in Åland Online.
  These improvements have been implemented for all companies on aland.se, regardless of level.
• 2008-11-16
  A new marketing channel for businesses has been implemented in the Control Panel.

• 2008-10-18
  Additional performance improvements have been implemented as well as some changes
  on page layout within certain subsections.
• 2008-10-22
  We have today implemented two new services, a new weather service with weather forecast and a new service to see ship positions on the Åland Sea.

For some time, the work to counter junk mail (so-called SPAM) has been at the top
on our priority list.
Posting your e-mail address online is almost impossible today if you want to avoid spam. There are hundreds of robots online that only look for specific email addresses. We have therefore chosen to hide the "@" sign in our presentations in order to reduce spam from dishonest actors on the Internet.

In collaboration with Nya Åland, we now show first-class news from Åland. The news comes from one of Åland's largest media houses and is updated continuously. We see this as a big step in the right direction for the portal's development and warmly welcome New Åland to Åland Online!

A new map function has been implemented with the option of being able to place your company in the right place on Åland. It is shown in its basic version as a map, but you can, if you want, also see a hybrid between map and satellite image - A so-called "hybrid image".

We have received a number of e-mails in which you, business owners and visitors, point out that certain information (place names) is in Finnish. We are of course sorry for that and are working to change this, but we still see that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

The map service is of course free of charge!

  We are currently working on implementing a new search engine with content from public organizations and associations on Åland. During a development phase, it will at times be down for maintenance and test runs. We hope you understand this so we can give you the best service we ever can!
• 2006-09-11
  The search results from searches on the portal will be limited in the free version to only display company names and symbols for address, phone number and website, etc.

  If you click on the company name, the presentation and contact details will of course be displayed!
  For the companies that are part of our plus package, the change will make these companies appear more clearly in searches on the portal.

  We will offer a new service in the autumn! E-mail forwarding to Your e-mail box!

  During the past week, the website has been hacked on several occasions. We are currently working day and night to solve the problem!
  Our front page is the only thing affected and none of our company presentations or other pages and features on the site have been attacked.

• 2006-08-23
  Åland OnMobile opens its doors. In a test phase, we will offer searches via mobile phones at the address www.aland.se/mobile. We hope to finish the test period and be able to make the service permanent during the winter.

  Work on adding features for language management has begun and will be tested for a period to come.

  A great deal of work has been going on for a long time to better integrate articles, texts and images on the portal. The work will continue for some time, which may contribute to some functions not working as they should.

  The new system automatically detects which industries should be displayed so none

  Map location of companies is implemented. This makes it easier for our visitors to
  be able to find the companies on Åland.

  Bugfix:
  A control and cleaning function for images in the company and association presentations is implemented.

  Additional facts have been added and we have corrected some of the links under "Short Facts".

  Fine adjustments to the server park have been made during the day, this may have caused some delays in searches on the portal.
  We have also slimmed down some program code to further increase performance, especially for those who visit us with a modem connection.

  Work on refining the code has continued. In addition, we have continued the work of updating the company information.

  Map locations for the municipalities on Åland have been added. All companies that have not specified their map position are now shown in their municipality instead.
  We have also updated some code on the company pages.
